Národný dom hotel (business class hotel) is the only hotel in Banská Bystrica which is located in the historical centre of the town right next to State opera and is a national monument. The hotel building was designed by the famous architect Emil Belluš who was born in Banská Bystrica. It was built in 1929 in an Art Deco style which created a new life perspective based on an inward change in a post- war culture.

Story
It will be almost 80 years since the National House became an integral part of the National Street in Banská Bystrica. From the beginning, the National House represented an important social and cultural center in the city. The complex, which was designed by the famous architect Emil Belluš, included an opera house, a hotel, a cafe and a restaurant.
Its location in the center of the city makes the hotel a unique place to experience the unforgettable atmosphere of the Banská Bystrica square with its many cafes, restaurants, museums and the unique architecture of town houses.
Do you know that the most famous specialty of Hotel Národný dom is the Banskobystrica Copper Cake? The original recipe of the Banskobystrica box cake comes from the beginning of the 20th century. During the renovation work at the Hotel Národný dom, a handwritten recipe for an excellent cake was found. This recipe was transformed into today’s form of cake by the confectioner of Hotel Národný dom. The result is a confectionary gem that is a harmony of excellent tastes for our city, such as Bystrica plums and walnuts.

Wedding menu / festive course – aperitif, appetizer, soup, main course, later a hot and cold buffet / approx. 35 euros / person, for small children a special children’s menu approx. 2/3 of the above amount, for vegetarians and special diets a menu as desired .
